ENVIROMENTAL IMPACTS

Farmers have to confront lots of pests and diseases of plants. They use herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers and irrigated water to protect their crop and a healthy production. Each of these things adds to the cost of the product, but they are needed investments. Animals such as birds and bees died because of overuse of pesticides.

CLIMATE FOR PAPAYA TREE

Papayas grow on trees in tropical and subtropical climates such as Sri Lanka, India, Hawaii and Brazil. They grow best under warm and humid conditions, but not in areas with strong, hot or dry winds. This is because they have very short roots and they get heavier as they grow older. Therfore, they get blown over easily. Papaya trees can be grown in shade, but it will not be as sweet as the one that grow in the sunlight. Regular rainfall is good for plant growth and fruit production. Temperatures below -0.6C (31F) will damage or kill papaya trees. Temperatures between 20C-30C (68F-89.6F) is best for papaya trees . They usually grow from 5m to 10m. (16ft-33 ft)
